Juneteenth (African American Heritage Emancipation) S00BH02
Emanicipate

This card depicts a moment in history when enslaved Black Americans learned of their freedom. Beneath the image you can see a portion of Abraham Lincoln's written Emancipation Proclamation.
INSIDE: June 19th (Juneteenth) marks the anniversary of the announcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Galveston, Texas in 1865. The Proclamation, which was made official on January 1, 1863, was supposed to free all African American slaves. Juneteenth Cards (African American Heritage Juneteenth) S99BH01
Juneteenth

Blank card.
COVER: From Africa came a pure heart and a pure life--of pride, dignity, and self-respect. Through the generations it was taught to children and instilled in their hearts. Through the generations it grew, despite the pain; the mountains; the barren land. My life is intertwined with my grandmothers' roots. They are still a part of me, I am a part of them. I carry their pure love in my heart, and might not it die with me.
